About Shelley

As a wife and mother of three daughters (aged 21, 19 & 16), I know how to juggle multiple balls and keep them all in the air. That strong family foundation keeps me grounded and reminds me of what’s important in life. After my family, my business is what’s most important to me and I am passionate about both building my business AND helping other solopreneurs grow and organize their businesses too.

I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur; to make my own rules, set my hours, work from home, choose my clients, and create my own set of goals – be my own boss. I’ve always loved working with computers – technology doesn’t frighten me! A range of tasks and the chance to work with clients who were making a difference was important to me.

After some research, I discovered the online support world. It’s still a great fit for me and my family due to the variety of work, the diversity of clients, and the flexibility of hours. I’m a Certified Virtual Assistant and a Certified eCommerce Specialist. I’m always looking for ways to enhance the skills I have and learn new skills that will help my clients with their businesses and after 8 years as a VA, I became a Certified Online Business Manager (OBM) in the spring of 2018.

Learning is another passion of mine, especially since beginning my entrepreneurial journey. I am a lifelong learner which is important in an online industry because everything is constantly evolving and a successful OBM needs to keep current both to have a successful business herself and to help her clients have the best business they can.

I am enthusiastic about giving back to the community I live in. Volunteering in my children’s school and in my community is very important to me. I was on the Board of Directors for a community softball league and my daughter’s riding club and it was so rewarding watching those children develop their skills and make new friends through each season. I’m currently the VP, Education for the Foothills Toastmasters Club. It’s a way I can give a little bit back to the wonderfully supportive society I am part of.

Some of the hobbies I enjoy (to help keep a good work-life balance) include scrapbooking, reading, camping, traveling, learning and discovering new things, walking and hiking, and spending time with my family and friends (often enjoying a Chai latte at the local Starbucks). I joined a local chapter of Toastmasters in 2017 to enhance both my speaking skills along with my leadership skills.
